Returning Home to Myself: A Journey to Sedona

sedona-blog

There’s a pull I feel when it’s time to leave—an intuitive whisper telling me to step away, clear myself, and return to my center. I don’t always realize how much I need it until I’m there—until I’m standing beneath a million stars, breathing in the crisp desert air, and feeling the deep stillness settle inside me.

This trip to Sedona, however, didn’t come easily. Life threw up every possible obstacle as if testing my commitment to go. But we got on that plane anyway, trusting that everything would be taken care of. I found myself praying on the bridge between the airport and the plane, surrendering to whatever force was at play, expressing gratitude, and asking for protection.

Arriving after midnight, I was met with silence, the sound of running water, and the vast, open sky. I immediately knew I was exactly where I needed to be.

For the next three days, I let go. I slept deeply, cooked nourishing meals, hiked through the red rock landscape, and allowed myself to be quiet. I wrestled with my past, untangled energetic cords, and sat in prayer and stillness. There was no forcing, no expectations—just being.

On the final full day, I met with a shaman. We experienced an energy clearing, stepped into the intensity of a sweat lodge, and received astrological readings. It was powerful, affirming, and deeply moving. What struck me most was this realization: everything he was doing, I already do—for myself, my clients, and my community.

I saw myself in him. One day, I know I will be the elder woman in her home, offering a space for others to come and heal. The message was clear—keep walking my path, because everything I need is already within me.

Did I need to travel to Sedona to be cleared? Not necessarily.

The practices I experienced—the releasing, the tapping into the body’s wisdom, the affirmations, the energy work—are the same ones we offer at Torus. The shaman guided us through energy-clearing techniques that mirrored EMDR, where we gently reprocessed old memories to free ourselves from the past. He worked with acupuncture meridian points, activating energy channels in the body to release stored emotions. He used intentional statements and physical tapping, similar to EFT, to guide the nervous system toward balance and healing.

No, we don’t have a sweat lodge, but we have community circles. We sing, pray, hold space, and clear ourselves through connection and presence. If someone needs guidance, we have tools for that too. Everything I experienced—the depth, the transformation, the release—is exactly what we cultivate in our healing space every day.

This trip was a reminder of why I do what I do and why I am so grateful to share this work with you all. Sedona, thank you for your energy, your wisdom, and your lessons. I return home clearer, more grounded, and filled with gratitude for this beautiful community we are building together.

To my staff, my supporters, my loved ones, and every person who walks through our doors—thank you. Keep going. Stay in your light. Breathe deeply, and remember: everything you seek is already within you.

If you are feeling the call to clear, realign, or reconnect with yourself—know that you don’t have to travel far. At Torus, we offer healing spaces where you can release, restore, and return home to yourself. Whether through EMDR, energy work, tapping, meditation, or our community gatherings, the tools for transformation are here.

Join us for a session, a circle, or simply a moment to pause and breathe. Your healing is already unfolding. We’re here to walk with you.
